Kindness Partners!
What matters the most to you? What are you passionate about?
Faith-family-friends-work-neighbors-health-education-sports-travel?
What do you need in your life?
Love, respect, safety, financial security, an opportunity to make a difference, meaningful work, finding your place – your purpose in this world?
At first glance, it is easy to see difference – gender, race, culture, religion, economics, education. A closer look reveals that there are more things that unite us than divide us. Freedom to live out our faith experience, time with our family and friends, safety and security, respect for who we are and the opportunity to contribute, to make a difference are values we all share.
In January 2006, Stacy Hawkins Adams’ column in the Richmond Times Dispatch asked:
Which issues compel you to speak out, take action?
Do the actions we take reflect what we claim to value and believe?
“Our fast-paced, high-tech, me driven society allows us to insulate ourselves so sufficiently that we can live in a neighborhood for years and never know who’s next door. We can have fellowship with others at church and never know their hearts.”
“The tragedy in such living is that it fractures our ability to live in community. It limits our ability to foster collective goodwill and understanding among one another. When we learn to merge our voices and our causes with others’, we’ll tap into tremendous power.”
Community Kindness Partners is a way to come together, joining our voices, creating a powerful force for good in our community.
