A tremendous amount of good and important work is being done by thousands of caring people through more than 100 not-for-profit agencies, 600 plus faith-based and community organizations, and our schools. Our goal is to celebrate the work being done by affirming the people involved and to give people an opportunity to share their story – to tell us why they do what they do – perhaps inviting or encouraging us to get involved – helping us find our “right place or purpose” - giving somewhere – to someone – using our unique talents and abilities.
Not-for-profit organizations – we invite you to share your story; mission, vision, volunteer needs, news of community and fund raising events and “testimonies” from the people you serve.
Volunteer Corner
Volunteers – we invite you to share your thoughts and feelings about your volunteer experience; to be a source of information and encouragement to others who might be looking for a volunteer opportunity. Reaching out, taking time, offering what you can, doing something that MATTERS.... things we think about but sometimes do not know how to pursue.
Habitat for Humanity has become the avenue through which I work to make a difference. True, I can swing a hammer, wire an fixture, mitre a corner and paint a wall, but even if I couldn't, someone would teach me how. Working to put a warm, secure roof over the head of a family is life changing. Attending the dedication of a Habitat for Humanity Home is affirming and emotional and heart wrenching all at once.
